Student Assistance Program – For Students and their Families

The SAP is designed to assist students, families, schools, colleges and institutions to manage the impact that a wide variety of personal and family problems can have on student behavior and achievement. Many issues can negatively impact a student including those related to family conflict, emotional or mental health problems, limited parenting skills, substance abuse, bullying and other peer conflict. Services provided include telephone consultation, in-person sessions.

The Student Assistance Program (SAP) is a here to help you and your immediate family members deal with concerns in your life — by finding solutions. The SAP is strictly confidential.

When to Call the SAP

You can count on the SAP for guidance and support. Call the SAP for issues that interfere with your daily activities, happiness, family stability or overall wellbeing. Some of the topics a SAP counselor can help you with are:

School/college performance

Stress

Confusion

Trouble with peers

Alcohol and other drug problems

Eating disorders

Problem gambling concerns

Dating and relationship issues

Conflict, bullying or violence

Depression or suicidal thoughts

Family concerns

How to Contact the SAP

You can call and set up an appointment to speak with a counselor face-to-face or telephonic session or even by emails. Together, you and the counselor will identify steps you can take to help you find a solution to your concern.

Who will know I used the SAP?

Confidentiality is important to us. No one will be given any information about your visit without your permission.

Do I have to pay to use the SAP?

No, Student can use the SAP for free. SAP is purchased and offered to students by their school or college

Student Assistance Program — For School/college Administrators

Crisis Response

Crisis response is provided by Indrishti, to assist the school in planning for and providing immediate and caring responses to critical incidents that may impact students or school employees. The Student Assistance Program (SAP) will assist the school/college with its response to crises including:

Employee or student deaths

Accidents and serious injuries

Sexual assaults

Other traumatic events

In the event of a crisis, school/college administrators can immediately consult with a clinician to arrange for appropriate response services including on-site group debriefings, generally held within 72 hours of the incident.
